How Betlejemski Dar collects, uses, and protects your personal data.

Last updated: 20 October 2026

Who we are

Betlejemski Dar crafts and sells handmade olive wood homeware and devotional pieces. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.

This policy explains what we collect when you visit our store, place an order, or subscribe to our newsletter, and how we handle it.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to run the store:

  • Account details: your name and email address when you create an account or sign in.
  • Order details: the items you buy, your shipping address, and a phone number so the carrier can reach you about delivery.
  • Payment confirmation: your payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Messages: anything you send us through the contact form or by email.
  • Newsletter: your email address if you choose to subscribe.
  • Technical data: basic information about your device and how you use the site, used to keep it working and secure.

How we use your data

We use your data to:

  • Process and deliver your order, including passing your delivery details to the shipping carrier you chose.
  • Send order confirmations and delivery updates.
  • Answer your questions and handle returns or complaints.
  • Send our newsletter, if you subscribed. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link.
  • Keep the store secure and improve how it works.

Payments

Card payments are handled by Stripe, a certified payment provider. Your card details are entered on Stripe's secure checkout and are never stored on our servers. Stripe processes your data under its own privacy policy.

Shipping and carriers

Our pieces are handmade and shipped from Poland. To deliver your order we share your name, delivery address, phone number, and order contents with the carrier you selected at checkout (for example InPost, DPD, or Poczta Polska).

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and local storage to keep your shopping cart, remember your language and currency choices, and keep you signed in. These are necessary for the store to work.

We may also use analytics to understand which pages are useful. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, though parts of the store may then stop working.

Sharing your data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that make the store work:

  • Stripe, for payment processing.
  • The shipping carrier you select, for delivery.
  • Our email service, for order emails and the newsletter.
  • Our hosting and analytics providers.

How long we keep it

Order and invoice records are kept for as long as accounting and tax law requires. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to resolve your question.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • Show you the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct anything that is inaccurate.
  • Delete your data, where we are not required to keep it.
  • Restrict or object to how we use your data.
  • Send your data to you or another provider in a portable format.
  • Stop sending you newsletters at any time.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and change the date shown above. Material changes will be pointed out on the site.
